Bal Harbour Shops Parking Garage

Bal Harbour Shops is an open-air shopping mall located in an affluent suburb of Miami. It has been ranked among the highest grossing retail centers in the world. Since its opening in 1965, the shopping center has built a reputation for excellence that attracts locals and tourists alike. As the shopping center has grown, so has its need for infrastructure. Parking, while often overlooked, is an extremely important element of the retail experience. To achieve the optimum aesthetic and performance on its new parking garage, the owners turned to architecture firm Zyscovich, who specified GKD’s Helix 12 as their product of choice. Helix 12 creates an elegant, timeless design that also has function and character. Transparency and natural light were critical in their decision to use GKD.
